Admissions

Before you register with Rhayader Community Nursery, your child will be invited to visit during our normal opening hours. If you would like to come and have a look around the nursery prior to your child starting, one of the managers will be happy to arrange a visit outside of the nursery opening hours to accommodate this. This will give you the opportunity to see how the Nursery is run and give you an insight to the activities that take place and the atmosphere in which your child will be cared for. Having had a visit and decided you would like to register your child then you will be required to pay a one off, non-refundable registration fee of £57.80. This will secure your place on the waiting list but does not guarantee a space on the days or times required.

After you register, up to two, two-hour sessions will be available for your child at a time arranged with the Nursery Manager. We understand how worrying it is for parents/carers when a child first starts Nursery and everything will be done to ensure this runs smoothly.

We encourage parents to work with staff to see that this transition is satisfactory and that both you and your child feel comfortable within their surroundings. Should you decide that you would like your child to attend the Nursery, you will be required to sign our Childcare Agreement. There will also be a registration forms to fill out. The Nursery aims to follow parent/carer's instructions as closely as is possible.

The nursery is required by law to keep records containing information about the children which will assist the Nursery in providing the best possible care. Any development notes kept will be shared with the child's parents/carers.

Fees & Sessions

Registration fee- £57.80 (one off, non-refundable fee)

All day: 8.00 am - 6.00pm £57.80 (includes breakfast, lunch and tea)

Late pick-ups- £1 for every 5 minutes

You may deliver or collect your child at any time during the full day session; however, you will be charged the full price for that session. All sessions will be paid for in advance and will be invoiced on the 1st of each month. Payment is required immediately, and if not paid within 7 days a 10% charge will be added and a reminder issued. If not paid within 14 days then your child’s space may be suspended until the bill is settled and if not paid within 28 days then the nursery reserves the right to take matters to small claims court.

One month’s notice will be given for increases in nursery fees. Any bounced cheque fees will be passed over to the fee payer.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel one or more of your booked sessions during the prepaid month, the Nursery will try and fill your child's space and if successful, the fees will be credited on your next month’s invoice. If spaces cannot be filled, it will remain chargeable. Sickness from nursery does not qualify for a reduction in fees.

Holidays and Closure

The Nursery will close at 12 pm on the 23rd December and reopen on the first working day after New Year's Day at 8 am; there is no charge for this period. The Nursery will close on bank holidays, but is not chargeable. The Nursery will be closed for one week of the Summer holidays (Monday 20 th July to Friday 24 th July).

If we experience heavy snow, the Nursery reserves the right to close. Usually we will close if the school closes. However, if the decision is made to open or remain open, all parents with children attending the session will be informed. Last Reviewed 11 th March 2026. If the nursery closes in these circumstances, you will not be charged, and the sessions will be credited on your next month’s invoice.
